Accidents at work/ Industrial injury
According to the Health and Safety Executive in the past year, 212 workers were killed at work, 3,028 significant injuries occurred at work and 2 million people were suffering from an illness they believed was caused or made worse by their current or past work.
If you or someone you know has had a work injury, then we can help obtain industrial injury compensation for the accident or illness.
You may be able to make a work injury compensation claim for an accident at work if you can prove it was someone else’s fault. There are many rules and regulations that your employer must comply with to ensure that you are safe whilst at work. Your employer has a duty to provide you with a safe place of work, a safe way of working, safe and suitable equipment to work with and safe and competent colleagues to work with. If they do not, and you are injured as a result you may be entitled to a personal injury settlement.
As personal injury solicitors we are experienced in dealing with all sorts of accidents at work and industrial injuries as a result of employers failing to comply with their duties such as:
- Failing to adequately guard dangerous parts of machinery.
- Exposing employees to harmful chemicals, causing back injuries as a result of failing to train employees how to lift safely.
- Trips and slips as a result of spillages or objects left on the floor.
- Injuries caused by inadequate health and safety precautions on constructions sites, for example, falling from ladders on scaffolding.
- Repetitive strain injury.
- Stress at work.
Unfortunately the list is endless.
Making a claim
The process is straightforward. We guarantee to you that there will be no cost to you at all whatever the outcome and that you will receive all of your compensation.
We need to show that the accident was caused by someone else’s negligence and that as a result you suffered personal injury.
How much compensation will I receive?
We can give you a good idea of the likely range of compensation you will receive, based on your work accident, when we first talk to you. Once we have investigated your case and can fully assess the effects of your work injury we can prepare a detailed valuation of your claim.
Accidents in public places
If you are injured in a public place be it a shop, school, hotel or outside in the road or pavement then we can help you claim compensation for your injuries. Owners and/or occupiers of premises (and in the case of roads/pavements the relevant public authority) have a duty to ensure that they have done everything that is reasonably practicable to ensure you are safe – if they do not and you are injured as a result you may have a claim.
If you have tripped over a defect in the road or pavement you should try and take photographs of where you fell, if possible showing the measurements of the defect. If possible take names and addresses of any witnesses to your accident. You should also report your accident to the person responsible.
We can advise on all aspects of your accident claim whether it be minor cuts and bruising as a result of your fall or a more severe personal injury. We have advised numerous clients in claims for compensation for accidents in public places and have won substantial awards for many of our clients.

Our specialist accident lawyers are experienced in obtaining the necessary information required to successfully bring a claim for compensation and will give you the representation you need at every stage.
